A True Miracle

7 Mark 2:8-12 “……And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they (Pharisees) so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, “Why reason ye these things in your hearts?

9 Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)11 I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.”12 And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.”

When the Pharisees SAW this miracle they did not faint with amazement at the power obviously from God but were angry when they heard Him say “your sins are forgiven”. 

Jesus recognized that a physical healing miracle should have astonished them but because he mentioned ‘sin cleansing’ it bothered them? How foolish?

The truth is, God alone is the only One that can forgive sin. They were there looking at the Son of Man (Daniel 7:13-14) He had power on Earth to forgive Sin. Yet they were blind to see it and too focused on the wrong things. 

Jesus was and is willing to take something dead and resurrect it, and take the broken and mend it. He can open the blinded eye, restore hearing, and make whole what was tattered and torn. 

It’s just-as-much a MIRACLE for Him to cleanse the sin inside of you and me! The Only Righteous God forgiving our disgusting sin is a miracle.

He doesn’t ignore sin. The scripture says, sin is detestable to God, because His very nature is RIGHTEOUSNESS….He IS JUST. He is always Right, He is always clean, He is always pure. He doesn’t say yes then no then yes again, He is not fickle…He is not tricky. He has never backstabbed. He is faithful!…..He has never sinned. He is HOLY.

He has chosen to perform a miracle in sending His Son Jesus so that we could have a chance to be changed into righteousness, and that we not to be utterly destroyed. This is why his forgiveness and His willingness to cleanse you and me from filthy to pure… is nothing less than a Miracle!
