Protected Heirs

Min. Benjamin Akuma

Galatians 4:1-7- 4 What I am saying is that as long as an heir is underage, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate. 2 The heir is subject to guardians and trustees until the time set by his father. 3 So also, when we were underage, we were in slavery under the elemental spiritual forces[a] of the world. 4 But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.[b]6 Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba,[c]Father.” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.

Slavery, by many estimations, is one of the lowest forms of life that a human being could experience. This sense of having someone else be in control of your very existence goes against our natural desire and longing for freedom. While we don’t see that level of slavery today, in most regions, spiritual slavery still exists today. The enemy continues to enslave millions of people every day through his lies, deceit, and condemnation.

Despite all of this, the scriptures remind us that the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ not only broke the chains of enslavement, but it also gave us the rights, responsibilities, and privileges as children of God.

The scriptures state that “God has made you also an heir”. We must be reminded every day when we encounter moments where the enemy tries to enslave our minds, that we are heirs in the Kingdom of God, and that we have access to not only the abundance of God’s Kingdom but also access to His protection.

If you look at any of the heirs in the Royal Family in England, they are all protected by the royal guard and other security personnel. It is not easy to get to those individuals, and there are protections in place to ensure that they are always safe and out of harm’s way.

How much more can we feel the safety and security of our Father, the King of kings, and the Lord of lord’s protection as His children and heirs?

We are no longer slaves, meaning we no longer are under the hand of the enemy but rather we are protected from the enemy by God’s power and authority. We are PROTECTED HEIRS of the Most High, and we should walk in this promise every day. Amen.
